Frequently Asked Questions

Cats must be at least 12 weeks old and weigh at least 3 pounds. Cats over 8 years of age are not candidates for this program.


Please fill out the spay neuter request form. You will be contacted by our spay neuter coordinator to schedule an appointment. Please do not fill out a request form until you are ready to make an appointment. If your cat(s) is under 12 weeks of age, please do not submit a request until your cats is old enough and weighs at least 3 pounds. 


At this time, vaccines are only given with surgeries.


Cats will be dropped off in the morning on the day of surgery. Pick up time will be determined when the cats are dropped off, usually between 3-4 pm. ALL CATS/KITTENS MUST BE IN THEIR OWN CLEAN AND SECURE CARRIER.  FERAL CATS MUST BE IN HUMANE TRAPS-NO EXCEPTIONS. Cats must be picked up on time- we cannot extend the pick-up time.


All surgeries are done by a licensed veterinarian assisted by a licensed veterinary technician.


All cats (tame and feral) are given an Onsior injection for 24-hour pain relief.


Due to a high number of no shows, starting June 1, 2026, all appointments must be paid in advance. Once your appointment has been made, we will send you an email with all the appointment information as well as a link for payment. Payment can also be made through our website using the payment button.  Arrangements can be made if you need to pay cash. You will need to let us know if you want to pay cash when your appointment is made. 

If payment is not made by the agreed upon date, your appointment will be cancelled. You will need to contact us to reschedule. 

ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE


Our goal is to spay and neuter as many cats as possible! We will do our best to work with you.


The HSMC Cat Spay Neuter Mobile Clinic so not offer ANY follow up care. This unit is not set up to hospitalize or perform any diagnostics. If your cat requires care after the surgery, you will be responsible to take your cat to a veterinary clinic or emergency hospital at your own expense. 


 Sometimes it can be hard to tell! If you are unsure a vet visit can confirm. If that is not an option, let us know that you are unsure when we schedule your appointment.


All cats must be in their own clean and secure cat carrier. Hard plastic carriers are best. To maximize space, our mobile clinic does not have cages, cats will be in their carriers while they are with us. Their comfort and safety is a priority to us.
